| About L.S.N Achar |
 |
|
Born in 1939,
L. Shankara Narayana Achar lives and works in Mysore,
India. His Artistic talent and creativity are evident
in all his art works. His watercolor Art works evidenced
by some of his vibrant compositions appear to be
his forte through his Landscape paintings and his
depiction of modernity in Indian, western and folklore
styles are equally impressive.
L.S.N Achar is such an artist who has brought to
life the characters created by writers in Kannada
magazines for over three decades. His works have
been published by a number of magazines, including
‘Gokula’, ‘Mallige’, ‘Kailasa’,
‘Janapragathi’, ‘Prajamata’
and ‘Sudha’. Achar did a number of cover
illustrations before the more sophisticated color
transparencies invaded the magazines.
When the Mysore state was christened Karnataka on
1st. November 1963, he did a series of posters for
an exhibition at the banquet hall in Vidhan soudha
Bangalore, sponsored by India book House. He received
autographs from former president and Vice President
of India with appreciation on their portraits made
by him.

Though
he received no formal training, Achar’s inherent
artistic ability was honed by his father Narayana
Achar and later by F.M. Sofi. Having been born in
Mysore, the landscapes and historic buildings provided
enough grist to Achar’s talent.
Even after joining government services, Achar continued
his favourite hobby doing illustrations for prestigious
publications as the india Book House and Bharata
– Bharati Series brought out by the Rastrothana
Parishath.
